A birthday, and uncertainty

Teacups, Cupcakes is one year old today. I was meant to be going out for cocktails in the East End tonight (not related, but appropriate somehow!) but I have a cold coming on and have to go into work on Sunday and be on call tomorrow so tonight am just planning to run myself a bath, have a long soak, then curl up with a bowl of pasta and The Importance of Being Ernest on DVD for a bit of light relief. The uncertainty of today's election result has left the country in limbo somewhat, and the anticlimax, with lack of definitive outcome as yet, seems to have left everyone a bit glum.

Thank you though to all those out there reading, following and commenting on my humble little blog, you brighten up my days even when the state of the nation fails to!

  1. hey Becky

congratulations on a year of blogging, what a perfectly pretty little cupcake that is!

yes, it's all rather dire isn't it? what happened to this supposed Lib Dem glory? Oliver Letwin has retained his seat here and who knows what will happen with any sort of coalition. it does feel like an anticlimax that's for sure.

  3. Thank you for writing such a lovely blog, and happy anniversary.

Here, there is a big case of the glums going on, but what makes me really proud is that people are being pro-active. Tomorrow, there is an Anti FPTP demonstration in Glasgow, and an anti-Tory one is being set up.

  4. I know exactly what you mean about the 'feeling' of the country - it is all a bit of a 'what happens now feeling' and makes voting seem rather a farce doesn't it!

Hope your long soak, good pasta and film make you feel on the mend.

    xx

PS: Glad my picture invoked good memories.

  5. PPS: Sorry, also meant to ask - are those crystallised roses on top of the cupcake? I have violets from Waitrose but never seen roses?
